Summary: This story takes place in middle of the second season of Battlestar Galactica. The romance between Baltar and Starbuck never happen. For this story Cally’s first name is Emily. Also, Sharon “Boomer” Valerii is not a cylon.

As night fell across the Battlestar Galactica, Crewman Specialist Emily Cally continued work. All Cally wanted to do was to finish the work on Lieutenant Thrace’s Viper before she shore leave. Several months ago, Commander Adama realize that the Galactica’s crew were going to need time off if they were able to their jobs well for the long haul. So a lottery system was created and the XO selected names for crewmembers to have five days off from duty. Emily never considers herself very lucky, but she was the first of the flight deck crew to get time off.

“ If I get Lieutenant Thrace’s repairs done” Cally thought to herself as she got out the viper’s cockpit. Looking around it seemed strange to Cally that it was quiet in the port-landing bay. Checking to make sure she a complete list of things she need Cally headed across the bay towards parts storage locker.

As Cally was collecting the last of the parts that she needed, she didn’t notice the person standing in the shadows. As she reached for the last part a hand reached came from behind a cover her mouth and nose.

“Lords what’s happening?” Cally thought as started fighting for air.

“No one can hear you. You are all alone.” A menacing voice whisper into her ear. “I can do what ever I want and nobody will come to help you.”

As the fear continued to rise within her, the man began dragged Cally farer into the dark storage locker.

As Lieutenant Kara “Starbuck” Thrace walked around the near empty corridors of the Battlestar Galactica she realized that she was bored. She had been stuck on the Battlestar since her last encounter with a Cylon raider. Chief Tyrol was still mad at her for damage to the viper’s engine and Lee seem to think that that she had been showing off again. Things were strained between the CAG and the Lead Pilot in recent months. Even though Lee and Kara had been friends for many years and in recent months they had develop more of a personal relationship, there were things in Kara’s past that Lee didn’t know. Things that Kara did want Lee or anyone else aboard the Galactica to know and because of these things their relationship had been strained on both a personal and professional level.

“Maybe I should just tell him and be over with it. Either he will understand or won’t” Kara thought as her walk lead her in the landing bay.

Coming into landing bay, Kara made her way to her Viper “Not much longer and we will be both be back into the air. As soon a Cally is done.” Looking around Kara realize that the Specialist in question was nowhere to be seen. Knowing that she was going on leave tomorrow, Kara was surprise not to see her hard at work.

As Kara began to look around the launch bay an uneasy began to grow with in her. Suddenly she turned around as she heard a noise coming from the storage locker. Slowly Kara started going towards the locker, hoping that she was wrong. Walking in, she turned on the lights.

“Cally are in here? It’s Starbuck. I thought that I would give you a hand with the repairs so you could start your leave on time.”

Walking in to the back of the locker, Kara saw a lone figure sitting on the floor. Walking slowly toward it Kara, tried to keep her voice soft and claming “Cally, is any one else here?”

Slowly Cally shook her head no. Slowly, Kara sat down beside the crewman. Taking one look at her, Starbuck had a pretty good idea what happen. Dried blood was covering her nose. She was holding her left arm close to her body and the top part of coveralls was off. “How long have you been here?”

“A while, I’m not sure. I came in for some supplies and he was waiting for me. I thought that I was alone.” Cally said as looked Starbuck with tears forming in her brown eyes.

“Okay, this is what we are going to do. We’re going to Life Station, get you checked out. While that’s happening I’ll talk with Colonel Tigh, he needs to knows what happened.” Kara said trying to stay calm herself.

“Oh Lieutenant, I couldn’t bear it if everyone knew what he did to me.” Cally said a she started to cry again.

“ First off, its Kara. Not Lieutenant Thrace or Starbuck. Secondly you need to be check out at Line Station. Your arm is more than likely broken or at the least sprained and you have other injuries. You have to protect yourself.” Kara said as continue watched Cally.

“ I guess that you Lieutenant. I mean Kara. I don’t want everybody talking about this. You know what its like on Galactica. Everyone is in everybody else business.” Cally answered, while taking deep breaths trying to calm her.

“I’m going to get a blanket, we’re off to Life Station. We will deal with all the other stuff as it happens. Okay Cally?” Kara said.

“It Emily. My first name Emily” Cally said as for the first time looking Kara Thrace in the eye.

“Emily right. Lets get going. I’ll be right back.” Kara said as she got up started toward the door. “Frak. Not again.” Kara thought as she looked for a blanket.
